Charles F. Bellows III, MD

Dr. Charles F. Bellows III, M.D., F.A.C.S, is a distinguished surgeon and academic with extensive experience in the fields of wound care, minimally invasive surgery, surgical research, and clinical leadership. Born in Auburn, NY, Dr. Bellows has dedicated his career to advancing surgical techniques and improving patient outcomes. He has recently joined Summit Medical Consultants as our premiere Wound Care Surgeon.
Dr. Bellows obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island and his Associate of Science from Cayuga Community College. He then earned his Master’s in Liberal Arts from Harvard University, where he conducted significant research on lung injury secondary to pancreatitis. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, followed by a residency and research fellowship in the Department of Surgery at Tulane University.
His professional journey includes a series of prominent academic appointments. Most recently, Dr. Bellows served as the Medical Director and Surgeon at the Vein Center in Fort Collins.
Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Bellows is an award winning surgeon who has held leadership roles in the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, he has served on editorial boards for several medical journals and as an ad hoc reviewer for prominent publications. Dr. Bellows’ innovative work has led to advancements in minimally invasive surgery and improved patient care.
Dr. Bellows resides in northern Colorado, where he continues to impact the medical field through his clinical practice, research, and dedication to teaching the next generation of surgeons. He is a devoted father to his daughter, Hannah.
