Linnea Spens, MD

Dr. Linnea Spens is a board certified general surgeon with an additional year of fellowship training in burn surgery and complex wounds. Dr. Spens was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology and medical doctorate at West Virginia University. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Spens worked for several years as a general surgeon in rural and urban areas performing a broad range of elective and emergent surgical procedures. She then went on to complete a one year burn surgery fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she evaluated and treated minor and major burns, skin related disorders and complex wounds.


Dr. Spens has over 8 years of experience as a general surgeon, providing and coordinating care in various health care settings including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, high level care centers, critical access hospitals and post acute care through several modalities including telemedicine. Growing up in the second most rural state in the nation, Dr. Spens has a passion for providing healthcare to resource restricted areas and underserved populations.


Dr. Spens resides in Broomfield, Colorado and enjoys life as an avid outdoor enthusiast.
