Maelene Schuhmacher-Omar, APRN, NP-C

Maelene is a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, including over five years in advanced practice roles. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Minot State University in 2009 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Nebraska Methodist College in 2020.

Her clinical background and primary passion focus on adult and geriatric populations, where she provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the continuum of health and illness. She also holds a Master’s degree in Human Services from Liberty University, which has been instrumental in shaping her holistic approach to care by integrating medical, psychosocial, and environmental factors into clinical decision-making.

Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in strategic management to further strengthen her leadership skills and expand her understanding of healthcare systems, financial stewardship, and organizational management. This advanced training supports her commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable care while contributing to effective leadership and sound financial oversight.
